What is Bridge?
Switching from digital to physical copies of books can take you out of its immersive storytelling world. Bridge creates an easy switch between copies, that won’t pull you out of the story. When the Bridge bookmark is put into a book the app updates any digital copies to their right place in the story, even audiobooks! When going back to the physical book a quick look into the app will update you on where you left off. Switching back and forth is a breeze and there is very little time out of the book.
Bridge is about keeping the experience of reading easy and comfortable in a changing world. The experience of reading cannot be replaced and Bridge helps further a readers love of books.
Simulation
A simulation using Girl with the Pearl Earring in paperback and Kindle app was conducted to get a basis on how easy switching from paper to digital books is. The participant had read this book five times, meaning they had a good knowledge of the books timeline.
The first test started with five minutes of reading then switching over to the digital copy. Like other reading apps, the Kindle has a scroll bar at the bottom of the screen to skim through the book quickly. The participant found her page in 40 seconds. When asked how she completed the task quickly they said that they just flipped to a random page and coincidentally it was two pages before the place she had stopped.
The second test had them reading at a different place in the book for five minutes then switching over. They took five minutes to find her page. They reported that the first problem was that they couldn't find the scrollbar meaning they had to flip through the digital book one by one. The second problem was not being able to remember what part of the book they stopped at and continuously looked in the wrong place of the book.

Type
Oswald and Lora were chosen because in their own way are reminiscent of books. Oswald has its narrow letters that look like books on a shelf. Lora is a very readable font and is a good font for long things that need to be read.
